Kayla Spencer (Associate)

Kayla concentrates her practice in civil litigation, including the defense of personal injury and asbestos claims, and governmental law.

Kayla is a 2018 graduate of Southern Illinois University School of Law, where she received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Higher Education and Democracy. During her second and third years of law school, Kayla worked as a law clerk for a law firm in Carbondale, Illinois, focusing on workers’ compensation defense. Also during her third year of law school, Kayla worked as a legal extern for the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Eastern District of Missouri in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Kayla obtained her Missouri Rule 13 license while working with the U.S. Attorney’s Office, which allowed her to gain invaluable federal courtroom experience.

Prior to law school, Kayla worked as a paralegal for a law firm in Waukesha, Wisconsin, which focused within the areas of business law, employment and labor law, estate planning, civil litigation, and real estate law. Kayla received her B.A. in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse in 2013 and her Post Baccalaureate Paralegal Certificate from Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in 2014.
