Karl Bayer graduated with a degree in political science and Latin from Knox College in 1992 and received his J.D. in 1996 from John Marshall Law School in Chicago. Working solely in litigation since 1996, Mr. Bayer has tried over 100 jury trials, countless arbitrations, and numerous mediations. He has also been appointed special assistant to the attorney general for the state of Illinois. Mr. Bayer covers defense and commercial litigation files in Cook County as well as the collar counties and far western suburbs. Karl lives in Elgin, Illinois, with his wife and two children.

- The contemnor in the landmark Illinois Supreme Court decision of Palm v. Holocker, Karl Bayer, contemnor, 2018 IL 123152, protecting the health information of defendants who have not placed their health information at issue in the litigation.
