Emma focuses her practice on defending clients in civil litigation, including Civil Rights/Section 1983 Litigation, General Tort Litigation, Long Term Care/Nursing Home defense, construction defense, Toxic Tort, and Workers’ Compensation.
Emma joined Heyl Royster as a summer associate in 2020. She began her full-time career as an associate in 2021 after she graduated summa cum laude at Northern Illinois University College of Law. During her second and third years of law school, Emma was a Moot Court Champion and served as the Lead Articles Editor of the Northern Illinois University Law Review. Also, during her third year of law school, Emma worked at the Civil Justice Clinic where she represented survivors of domestic violence seeking orders of protection, and clients needing representation for child custody and child support issues.
During her first year of law school, Emma was a law clerk at a defense firm in Knoxville, Tennessee where she gained invaluable research and writing experience in the areas of municipal law, products liability, medical malpractice, and probate.
Emma graduated from Northern Illinois University in 2018 with a major in Business Management, a minor in Finance and Marketing, and was a member of the softball team.
