Sara Ingram (Partner)

PRINT

Sara is one of the partners leading the firm’s defense of toxic tort and asbestos personal injury matters. Her clients include industrial equipment manufacturers, consumer product manufacturers, premises owners, and aircraft component manufacturers. In addition to taking a lead role in key depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses and experts, Sara works with her clients to proactively manage litigation claims in a manner that addresses each client’s key concerns. Her strong background in medical issues benefits her clients in the assessment of injury claims and the critical evaluation of expert issues. She works with clients to develop new experts, identifies key defenses for specific products or claims and is regularly called upon to serve as a member of the trial team when cases are ready to proceed to trial.

Sara has developed expertise in the management of high volume and complex litigation. She has successfully implemented unique strategies to reduce large inventories of cases, reduce settlement values as well as defense costs and to limit the frequency of naming in new suits for some clients. Sara serves as counsel in both Illinois and Missouri and defends cases in all of the magnet jurisdictions in those states. She also has a role working on the team coordinating the national asbestos litigation for a product manufacturer including coordinating litigation in the key jurisdictions across the country.

Sara serves as a mentor for attorneys in the firm and is responsible for coordination of key support from an outstanding team of paralegals.

A native of St. Joseph, Illinois, Sara has worked her entire career at Heyl Royster, starting as a law clerk in our Urbana office and practicing in our Edwardsville office since 2006. Sara became a partner with the firm in January 2015. Sara regularly volunteers her time to support Kellsie’s Hope Foundation, a local 501(c)(3) organization providing support to families that have children suffering from cancer and also raising awareness and funds to support childhood cancer research.
