Attorneys Speak at Illinois Municipal League Conference


A number of the firm’s attorneys spoke at the 104th Annual Illinois Municipal League Conference held on September 21-23 in Chicago. Andrew Keyt and John Redlingshafer gave a case law update on the Tort Immunity Act and a presentation entitled “Prevailing Wage Act: Are you in Compliance?” Emily Perkins spoke to the Risk Management section in a presentation entitled “How to Minimize Cyber Liability.” She focused on the most common types of cyber-attacks and recommended steps to preventing such an attack, such as the implementation of proper policies and procedures. Tony Ashenhurst and Anne Mergen gave a presentation entitled “Federal Health Care Law Update for Public Employers.” The session focused on existing law, anticipated changes due to efforts to repeal and/or replace the Affordable Care Act, and the impact on public bodies.
