Attorneys Speak at IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference

Jana Brady, Brad Ingram, Andy Keyt and Mark McClenathan presented sessions at the annual Illinois Association of Park Districts (IAPD) and Illinois Park Recreation Association (IPRA) Soaring to New Heights conference, which was held in Chicago on January 18-20.

Jana and Brad presented a session on “Harassment-Free and Diversity Workplace Training, Internal Investigations, and Successful Workplace Management: Documentation.” Their presentation covered best practices related to managing employees, implementing and maintaining HR policies, investigating harassment and discrimination complaints, and identifying common documentation errors.

Mark spoke on “CyberLiability for Park Districts: How to Build Your Defenses for a Cyber Attack,” which covered the Illinois Personal Information Protection Act, cyberliability insurance policies, and best practices for avoiding and minimizing cyberliability.

Andy presented “Do You Comply with the Prevailing Wage Act?” – which covered the requirements of the Prevailing Wage Act, including the Act’s yearly and per-job requirements for park district officials.
