Hedrick, Peverly, Uphoff, and Pratt Give Presentation On Preservation of Electronic Data & Documents


On February 2, members of Heyl Royster’s Trucking practice spoke at the annual 2019 Mid-West Truck & Trailer Show in Peoria, Illinois. Attorney, Mitch Hedrick from the Peoria office, spoke to the group about records the law requires motor carriers to preserve. Paralegal and e-Discovery Coordinator, Theresa Peverly, also from the Peoria office, presented on electronically stored information’s (ESI) impact on trucking litigants. Attorney, Seth Uphoff, from the firm’s Peoria office, spoke next on Spoliation. He explained what it is and two different, potential outcomes if the ESI is missing. The last presenter, Tyler Pratt, attorney from Heyl Royster’s Champaign office, presented on electronic discovery, also known as e-discovery. He described common traditional and modern requests as well as why this information matters. The Mid-West Truck & Trailer Show has been around since 1962 and brings annual crowds of around 6,500 people to the Peoria Civic Center.
