Several Attorneys Speak at IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference


Attorneys Andrew Keyt, Heather Mueller-Jones, and Emily Perkins recently presented on a variety of topics at the IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference in Chicago on January 24th and 25th. Andy presented on the Illinois Open Meetings Act, advising attendees on compliance issues and handling closed sessions. He also spoke on the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act requirements and how to mitigate risk in Cyber Liability. Heather spoke to attendees about the current status of Recreational Property Liability in Illinois. She provided recent trends in cases decided throughout Illinois and in the Illinois Supreme Court regarding recreational properties. Heather also gave attendees real-life proactive steps that can be taken to limit liability and how to investigate and set up a defense if an incident does occur. Finally, Emily discussed tips and prevention techniques related to Sexual Harassment in the #metoo era, which included interactive hypotheticals and a discussion about the training requirements imposed on employers under the new Illinois law.
