Andy Keyt and Emma Ray presented at the 2022 IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference on January 28-29. Their topics included Sexual Harassment: Tips for Prevention and Handling, Park District Contracting for Use of Facilities, Complying with the Illinois Open Meetings Act, The Current Status of Recreational Property Liability in Illinois, and Illinois' Freedom of Information Act.

Andy Keyt is Chair of the firm’s Governmental Practice. He advises public bodies in all areas such as litigation, risk management, contracting and procurement, employment, corporate governance, and sunshine laws. He also focuses on the representation of public and private bodies in land use and zoning procedure and litigation. Andy represents numerous private-sector clients in litigation throughout the state of Illinois. He has handled numerous trials, mediations, and arbitrations. His litigation clients include public bodies, renewable energy companies, equipment manufacturers, premises owners, miners, and contractors.

Emma Ray focuses her practice on defending clients in civil litigation, including Civil Rights/Section 1983 Litigation, General Tort Litigation, Long Term Care/Nursing Home defense, construction defense, Toxic Tort, and Workers’ Compensation. After joining Heyl Royster as a summer law clerk in 2020, she began her full-time career as an associate in 2021 after graduating from Northern Illinois University College of Law.
