Bonds Inducted into The College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers


On March 16, partner Bruce Bonds was inducted as a Fellow in The College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers. His election to fellowship by the College's Board of Governors represents the recognition by his colleagues that he has distinguished himself as an outstanding professional who has made a sustained contribution to the Workers' Compensation field, and that he has met the College's standards of integrity, professionalism and character.

Bruce's contributions to the profession includes serving as a technical advisor to the Joint Employers during the negotiations that culminated in the 2005 amendments to the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act, and as a technical advisor to the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, as well as a number of Illinois legislators and State agencies, in the process that resulted in the 2011 Amendments to the Illinois Workers' Compensation Act. He was appointed by the Chairman of the Illinois Workers' Compensation Commission to a committee that made recommendations for revisions to the Rules Governing Practice before the Commission. Bruce has also served as Vice-Chair of the ABA Committee on Employment, Chair of the ISBA Section Council on Workers' Compensation, and he serves on the Employment Law Committee of the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce and the Illinois Chamber of Commerce Workers' Compensation Committee. He is an Adjunct Professor of law at the University of Illinois College of Law, where he has taught Workers' Compensation Law since 1998. Bruce co-authored the West publication entitled Illinois Workers' Compensation Law (2009-2010 Edition), and he is a frequent speaker on workers' compensation issues at bar association and industry-sponsored seminars.
