Kirk and Elder Law Practice Featured in Leading Lawyer

Partner Tim Kirk (Peoria) was recently featured in a Leading Lawyers Magazine article entitled "Helping Elderly Fend off Creditors, Predators." In the article, Kirk, who is chair of the firm's Elder Law; Estate, Wealth and Succession Planning; and Trusts and Probate Practices, talked about his 30-year career of practicing law in central Illinois.

"My first 10 years … as a litigator helped me sharpen my interpersonal skills," Kirk said. "The next dozen years of transactional experience helped me develop a problem-solving approach. Both of these disciplines shaped my elder law practice."

Roy Davis, a partner at Davis & Campbell LLC, said he never hesitates to recommend friends and colleagues to Kirk. "I get nothing but rave reviews for what Tim does," Davis said. "Everyone finds him very personable and very knowledgeable."

In the article, Kirk also talks about why he joined Heyl Royster. "I wanted to practice where I enjoyed my colleagues and where I had the most resources to help my clients."

At the conclusion of the article, Kirk says, "It gives me great joy and satisfaction to help people. I'm busy and enjoy what I do, and it's hard for me to imagine doing anything else."
