Schag Co-Authors “Legal Guide for Military Families”

Heyl Royster partner Mike Schag co-authored a book entitled Legal Guide for Military Families, published by the American Bar Association. The book has received national attention from the media such as the Detroit Legal News, which said, "The guide is written by attorneys who have worked for years with military service members and their families." The Military Times indicated that the guide "aims to deliver that ounce of prevention to help troops and families avoid problems along the road of military life." Although the guide covers many topics, in this volume, Mike concentrates on matters of debt and finance.

In addition to his practice at Heyl Royster, Mike serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve. He is also a co-author of a publication entitled Servicemember and Veterans Rights published by Matthew Bender-LexisNexis (2011) and a publication entitled Military Service and the Law published by the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (2009). In 2007, Mr. Schag published an article in the Illinois Bar Journal entitled, "Finding Your Way Around the Servicemembers Civil Relief Act."
