Renee Monfort Appointed to Illinois Supreme Court Character and Fitness Committee


In January, partner Renee Monfort (Urbana) was appointed by the Illinois Supreme Court to serve a three-year term (January 2014 through December 2016) as a member of its Committee on Character and Fitness, Fourth District. The Committee evaluates the moral character and general fitness of applicants to practice law in Illinois. A founding partner of the firm, Lyle W. Allen, served on this Committee as a Third District representative from 1965-1977.

Renee is a partner in Heyl Royster's Professional Liability Practice and practices out of the firm's Urbana office. She defends healthcare providers and counsels healthcare professionals, multi-specialty clinics and hospitals on a wide range of administrative, policy and risk management matters. Renee is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Illinois College of Law where she teaches Trial Advocacy. She is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell.
