Patrick Cloud Named a "40 Under Forty" Attorney to Watch

Patrick Cloud's profile in the Law Bulletin Publishing Company's recently released "40 Under Forty" list of up-and-coming lawyers highlights the depth and complexity of his litigation experience. Patrick is the lead defense attorney on many asbestos cases involving large manufacturing clients that are handled out of the firm's Edwardsville office. He is also the head of the firm's Insurance Coverage and Class Action/Mass Tort Practices.

Patrick's role in asbestos defense litigation often brings him in contact with national coordinating counsel for large corporations, such as Brady Green, an attorney with Wilbraham Lawler & Buba out of Philadelphia. Green says Patrick, "considers cases – and the litigation as a whole – from all angles, but he never loses sight of the fact that the overriding objective is to achieve the best possible result for the client."

In the profile on Patrick, Robert "Barney" Shultz, Vice President and Counsel at State Farm and a former managing partner of the firm's Edwardsville office, expressed a feeling of confidence when Patrick is on the defense team. Shultz describes Patrick as an "exceptionally smart and talented lawyer who has proved himself time-and-again as a 'go to' lawyer within the firm and with the firm's clients."

The Law Bulletin Publishing Company conducts an annual "40 Under Forty" survey to recognize 40 attorneys under the age of 40 for their professional achievements and abilities. Patrick is the third Heyl Royster attorney in three years to be named to the "40 Under Forty" list.
