Elward Provides Procedural Guidance in Appellate Lawyers' Association Article

Brad Elward (Peoria) published an article with the Appellate Lawyers' Association's online journal, THE BRIEF, that discusses the recent decision of Harreld v. Butler, 2014 IL App (2d) 131065. The article, "A Nunc Pro Tunc Order Cannot Be Used To Impart Rule 304(a) Language To A Prior Final, But Not Appealable, Order Where There Is No Indication Such A Finding Was Made When The Original Order Was Entered," is helpful to trial and appellate practitioners alike and provides guidance as to when a Rule 304(a) finding permitting immediate appeal of an otherwise final order should be sought.

Brad is the Immediate Past President of the Illinois Appellate Lawyers Association, and has published articles in numerous prominent journals and magazines, including the Illinois State Bar Journal, Southern Illinois University Law Journal, Northern Illinois University Law Journal, IDC Quarterly, DRI For the Defense, and IICLE.
