Heyl Royster

Firm Receives Best Places to Work in Illinois Award

Heyl Royster was recognized as one of the Best Places to Work in Illinois at an awards ceremony coordinated by The Daily Herald Business Ledger on May 18. The firm was one of 25 organizations, and the only law firm, recognized in the Medium Companies (100-499 U.S. Employees) category. The Best Places to Work in Illinois statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Illinois, benefiting the state's economy, workforce, and businesses.

Chicago Office Managing Partner, Tobin Taylor, accepted the award on behalf of Heyl Royster.

“It’s an honor for our firm to be recognized as one of the best workplaces in Illinois,” said Heyl Royster Managing Partner Tim Bertschy. “Law firms often use the word ‘culture.’ The key for any successful organization is to create the culture that should define you. We are a Midwestern law firm with solid Midwestern values. We honor our past while building our future. Our foundation has been, and will always be teamwork, collegiality, collaboration, and honesty.”

Companies from across the state entered the two-part process to determine the Best Places to Work in Illinois. The first part consisted of evaluating each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience.

“This award is a testament to our great people and validates the respect we have for our clients, and the firm’s lawyers and staff,” Bertschy said.

The Best Places to Work awards program began in 2006 and is promoted by The Daily Herald Business Ledger in partnership with the Human Resources Management Association of Chicago (HRMAC), the Illinois Chamber of Commerce, MRA (The Management Association), the Small Business Advocacy Council, the Greater Oak Brook Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group.
