Press Release: Heyl Royster Announces Five New Partners

(January 19, 2022) -Heyl Royster is pleased to announce that effective January 1, 2022, Mike Bedesky, Chris Drinkwine, Larry Hall, Mike Orsi, and Dominique Seymoure have been promoted to partnership.  We are proud of the individual accomplishments of these attorneys.  As a group, they demonstrate the firm’s commitment to providing exceptional legal representation across a number of practice areas throughout the firm’s growing regional practice.

Mike Bedesky

Over a 28-year career as a trial attorney, Mike has defended a wide variety of cases including motorsports liability, products liability, construction negligence, defamation, as well as first and third-party insurance bad faith cases.  Mike has tried 36 cases to verdict and handled numerous appeals across the State of Illinois.  He is also an experienced insurance coverage attorney.  Mike is resident in both the firm’s Edwardsville and St. Louis offices and is involved in the firm’s growing practice throughout the State of Missouri. 

Chris Drinkwine

Chris is Co-Chair of the firm’s regional Appellate Practice Group and, in that capacity, handles appeals in multiple states and federal courts across the central part of the country.  His varied background also includes trial court experience, with particular expertise in the areas of civil rights, employment law, medical malpractice, casualty/tort, products liability, workers’ compensation, and insurance coverage.  Prior to joining Heyl Royster, Chris had extensive experience in senior-level clerking positions in both federal court and the Illinois appellate courts, most notably serving for many years as the Senior Law Clerk for Federal Court Judge Frederick Kapala.  Chris manages his regional practice from the firm’s Rockford office. 

Larry Hall

Larry recently joined the firm with extensive experience as an accomplished trial attorney, most notably in the area of trucking and transportation law.  While Larry handles litigated matters in a number of practice areas in both Illinois and Missouri, he will head up the firm’s growing trucking and transportation practice in Missouri.  Larry is an active member of several organizations serving the trucking industry and is also an accomplished author and public speaker on numerous legal issues pertaining to trucking law. While Larry handles cases throughout the entire Midwest region, in numerous state and federal court settings, he is resident in the firm’s St. Louis office.   

Mike Orsi

Mike joined the firm with extensive in-house legal experience in the healthcare industry and currently represents physicians, hospitals, nurses, pharmacies, and other healthcare providers.  He focuses his practice in the areas of medical malpractice defense, healthcare law, pharmaceutical defense, as well as trucking and catastrophic injury cases.  Before beginning his legal career, Mike worked in law enforcement.  Mike handles cases throughout Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin, and is resident in the firm’s Rockford office.

Dominique Seymoure

Dominique is an experienced trial attorney with over 20 civil jury verdicts to her credit.  She practices in numerous areas, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, trucking, products liability, class actions, toxic torts, consumer fraud, breach of contract, and other insurance-related matters.  In addition to her trial court success, Dominique has successfully handled appeals throughout the Fourth and Fifth District Appellate Courts in Illinois.  Dominique practices out of the firm’s Edwardsville office.
